SECURE AMERICA AND ORDERLY IMMIGRATION ACT

The so-called "Secure America and Orderly Immigration Act" (S. 1033), sponsored by Senators John McCain (R-AZ) and Edward Kennedy (D-MA), will neither bring order to U.S. immigration policy, nor secure the U.S.

What's more, in combination with the U.S.-Mexico Totalization Agreement, the McCain-Kennedy bill threatens to wreck our Social Security System:

The McCain Kennedy bill would allow millions of illegal immigrants to apply to
become guest-workers. Workers would pay a fine of $1,000 and enter the so-called "guest-worker" program.

After six years and another $1,000 fine former illegal aliens would receive green cards and be eligible for citizenship. Proponents of the bill are attempting to disguise this massive amnesty by calling it "earned legalization" or a "status adjustment".

The new amnesty for illegal aliens would also increase legal immigration by 400,000/year , bringing the annual legal flow to over 1,600,000. It would also leave open the possibility of even larger increases in later years. Under this provision, foreign nationals could come here to work and, after four years, could apply for a green card.

"There might be a little more lipstick on this pig than there was before, but it is most certainly the same old pig. Time and time again, history has shown us that amnesty actually increases illegal immigration." Rep. Tom Tancredo (R-CO)

Over one million illegal aliens NET settled in our country last year. If the McCain-Kennedy
Amnesty bill is passed, the number of aliens settling in our country each year could easily reach three to four million!

Consider the potential results: U.S. food production will decrease significantly because one acre of wild or farm land is lost for every person added to the U.S. population. And the impact on our already overcrowded hospitals and schools would be tremendous.

Americans are already losing $190 billion annually in wage depression due to mass

Federal and State expenditures on such items as highways, hospitals, and schools total $93
billion per year net after subtracting taxes paid by immigrants. Local government costs are
estimated at more than $44 billion, again after subtracting taxes paid by immigrants.

• The U.S.-Mexico Totalization Agreement would allow Mexicans who had worked or are working illegally in the United States to receive U.S. Social Security benefits, even if they used fraudulent documents while here and end up living in Mexico!
  
  
• It would allow those aliens to receive much more than they paid into the system, all courtesy of us, U.S. taxpayers!
  
  
• Just by itself, the U.S.-Mexico Totalization Agreement would place an undue burden on the U.S. Social Security System. Combined with the McCain-Kennedy Bill it becomes a truly scary prospect!
  

But, proponents of the agreement might object, we have totalization agreements with 20 other countries and Mexico is our second largest trading partner. Where's the problem? There are many objections:

1. The Department of Homeland Security estimates there are seven million Mexican illegal aliens working in the U.S. The McCain-Kennedy bill offers a process by which many of these millions can gain legal status. Once legal status is gained, the former alien could use his or her work experience to gain ADDITIONAL Social Security benefits. As few as six quarters of work (compared with 40 quarters for American citizens) are required to be eligible for benefits.
   
   
2. Family members would also be entitled to benefits, even if they lived outside the U.S.
   
   
3. Other countries the U.S. has totalization agreements with send relatively few workers to the U.S. And Americans work in those countries in about equal numbers. We gain about as much as we lose with these countries.
   
   
4. The history of immigration in the period after the 1986 amnesty demonstrates that yet another amnesty will encourage millions more to cross our borders. If the 2005 amnesty bill passes and the totalization agreement with Mexico is not defeated, millions more will pour across the border. The allure will be not just U.S. wages and health care and welfare benefits for their families but also U.S. Social Security benefits. For Mexicans, U.S. Social Security represents "something" versus virtually nothing.

So Here's How We Can Stop This Giveaway:

When the White House submits the Totalization Agreement to Congress, it will have 60 "legislative" days to act. If neither Chamber passes a Resolution of Disapproval, the agreement will automatically take effect at the end of the 60-day period. Representative J.D. Hayworth (R-AZ) has introduced a resolution of disapproval (H. Res 20) , in the House. It is absolutely essential that this be passed.

The Kennedy-McCain bill and the U.S.-Mexico Totalization Agreement together will undermine the U.S. Social Security System.

Call, fax, and write your Senators and Representative and urge them to OPPOSE the McCain- Kennedy Amnesty Bill. At the same time, ask them to SUPPORT Rep. J.D. Hayworth's H. Res. 20, a resolution of disapproval of the Totalization Agreement. ACT NOW TO SAVE OUR NATION AND OUR ENVIRONMENT

To maximize the pressure, it is essential that you also urge your Senators and Representative to pass a MORATORIUM bill on all immigration in excess of 100,000 per year! Not only will advocating this bill put a focus on reducing overall numbers but it also will call the whole enterprise of mass immigration into question! Pushing a MORATORIUM bill maximizes the pressure to defeat the McCain-Kennedy Covert Amnesty Bill!
