Electricity Blackouts, Water Shortages, Urban Sprawl, and
Pollution Spread Across the United States

Mass Immigration-generated Population Growth
is the Root Cause of these Problems, and more

BILLS IN CONGRESS POSE IMMEDIATE THREAT!

If passed, they would accelerate population growth, damage the environment, and harm the quality of life in the United States. Over 70% of population growth in the U.S., and over 96% in California, is caused by mass immigration.

11 Million Illegal Aliens Could Gain Citizenship
Representative Luis Gutierrez (D-IL) introduced a bill (H.R. 500) that would grant permanent legal residence (that is, amnesty) status to up to 11 million illegal aliens now in the U.S.A.
Illegal Aliens Could Stay in U.S. While Applying for Residence
The opposition is also pushing for an extension of Section 245(i) of the Immigration and Naturalization Act. Section 245(i) allows illegal aliens who now reside in the United States to stay in the United States while they apply for legal residence status.
Hidden Amnesty Threat in Guestworker Proposal
The pro-mass immigration opposition is pushing hard to attach a "hidden" amnesty to the Guestworker Bill, which would allow farmers to recruit foreign farm labor.

The Effects of an Amnesty, if it is Successful

  • Millions of people, many of them lawbreakers, would be given legal residence, and, potentially, citizenship and voting rights in the U.S.A.
  • Popular illegal immigrant destination cities would be increasingly burdened with increased health care costs, wage depression, and overcrowded schools -- and we taxpayers foot the bill.
  • Encourages more illegal immigration. Many relatives of illegal aliens want to come to the U.S.A. too, creating more agitation for yet another amnesty.
  • If these bills pass and current trends continue, the population of the United States will exceed half a billion before 2050.

The root cause of the following is immigration-generated population growth. These problems will continue to worsen, if current immigration and related trends persist.

Environmental Degradation

  • Every year in the United States, we pave over or otherwise convert to human uses an area the size of Delaware, in large part to accommodate our nation's newcomers;
  • Ninety-five percent of all U.S. old growth forests have been cut down and fifty percent of our original wetlands have been drained to accommodate population growth;
  • 1.3 million new housing units are needed annually, and 400,000 acres of arable farmland are consumed by sprawl every year.

Economic Costs

  • Existing residents in a community pay a national average of $15, 400 per each added person for various infrastructure costs;
  • The net cost of mass immigration to U.S. taxpayers will be at least $932 billion in decade of 1997-2006 (after subtracting taxes immigrants paid), if mass immigration at at current levels continues;
  • Rolling blackouts threaten to spread across the country as California consumes electricity surpluses from neighboring states. Even though their per capita electricity use has fallen 5% in the past 20 years, demand has increased because of population growth.
