Why is an Immigration Moratorium the Solution?
ACT NOW To Prevent
Future Terrorist Attacks
Our lives and freedom have been permanently
changed by the acts of war on the United States. Failed Immigration
policies made these acts possible, and have awakened Americans
to demand secure borders and major changes in immigration laws.
The failed immigration policies of the past must end. There
can be no doubt that mass immigration endangers both our national
and our environmental security. We still have no system in place
to find those who entered America and helped perpetuate this
atrocity.
The National Commission on Terrorism stated that:
"The massive flows of people across U.S. Borders make
exclusion of all foreign terrorists impossible."
Our borders, airports, and ports are totally porous to such terrorists.
Though background checks, I.D. cards, and tracking of the over
one million legal immigrants annually and deportation of illegals
are necessary, they alone are not sufficient to protect our security
unless the numbers are drastically reduced. Reduction of immigration
numbers is essential to National Security.
BALANCE sends its deepest sympathies to the
victims of the tragedies of September 11, 2001. The All-Inclusive
Solution: MORATORIUM ON IMMIGRATION
Only a solution which includes all the categories of immigration
will successfully reduce immigration numbers.
An immediate immigration moratorium gives us time to develop
the security we demand at our borders.
A moratorium increases job security of American workers who
are being laid off by the hundreds of thousands.
Not only is the security of our immediate personal environment
adversely affected by mass immigration, it is the sheer numbers
-- the millions of immigrants and visitors coming to settle
in the United States each year -- which increases the stress
on the very environmental support systems which make our lives
possible.
Mass-immigration generated population growth is the root cause
of our continuing energy crisis, the increasing shortages and/or
pollution of potable water around the U.S.A., and the loss of
topsoil, which among other things is on trend to reduce California's
arable farmland by 50% in the next 20 years.
Mass-immigration driven population growth is the root cause
of these threats to our environmental support systems. For example,
over 90% of the population growth of New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts,
and California in the 90's was caused by mass-immigration generated
population growth, as was over 70% of the U.S.A.'s.
YET, INCREDIBLY, EVEN AFTER SEPTEMBER 11, THE PRO-OPEN BORDERS
LOBBY CONTINUES TO PRESS IMMIGRATION EXPANSION BILLS IN CONGRESS
AND THE WHITE HOUSE.
As we write this the pro-mass immigration lobby and its friends
in Congress are pushing for an extension of Section 245(i) which
would allow illegal aliens already in the United States to stay
in the United States while they apply for legal residence, after
paying a fine. They have successfully pushed to attach this
legislation to an appropriations bill, thus greatly increasing
its chances of passage. By passing 245(i), Congress would be
sanctioning and, indeed, rewarding, the same kind of illegal
behavior which led to admission of the terrorists. Help BALANCE
keep the heat on Congress to delete Section 245(i) in conference
committee.
BUSH ADMINISTRATION CONTINUES TO PUSH FOR AMNESTY, SAYS FOX.
Also, incredibly, Mexico's President Vicente Fox says that,
even after the tragedy of September 11, President Bush promised
to continue to push for an amnesty of millions of illegal aliens.
In short, the opposition is not resting and neither can we.
1. An all-encompassing immigration moratorium is necessary
to reduce the numbers. If we merely stop an amnesty, or guestworker
program, or passage of 245(i), that is well and good, but that
will not reduce the numbers if the other categories are left
untouched. Thus, we must push for the all-encompassing solution
of a immigration moratorium in the form of HR 2172, sponsored
by House Immigration Caucus leader Tom Tancredo and other members
of Congress. It would enact a total moratorium on many categories
of immigration with limits on the other categories.
2. Tighten our immigration laws and enforcement by:
a. Requiring mandatory background checks, machine readable
ID cards, and regularized tracking procedures for all legal
immigrants and visitors. The alternative is imposition of
a national ID card on everyone, including citizens. The latter
infringes on the liberty which Americans cherish and our military
have sworn to protect.
b. Implementing Section 110, the border exit system, which
would greatly aid authorities in tracking tourist and student
visa overstayers. Vigorously pursuing and deporting all illegal
aliens including visa overstayers. Apparently 9 of the terrorists
entered on visas and overstayed. We have no system to follow,
track, and make immigrants comply with visa limits.
Aren't you fed up with mass immigration and with our failed
immigration policy? The pro-open borders lobby still controls
Congress' and the Bush Administration's position on immigration...
WE MUST ACT NOW! Obviously, we are at a critical junction in
American history. We can make a difference if we pull together.
Please send a check and donate gift memberships, NOW!
The only solution is to increase our grassroots support * increasing
numbers of citizens will demand that members of Congress and
the Bush Administration impose a moratorium. BALANCE has to
build its membership base to increase our clout. The best way
to do this is to give gift memberships as well as donate to
BALANCE today.
TOGETHER, Let's stop this outrage to our security!
1. Give gift memberships and donations
to BALANCE today!
2. Demand that President Bush and Congress enact the Tancredo
Moratorium, Bill HR 2712, with an amendment placing a cap of
100,000 per year on all legal immigration categories.
3. Demand that Congress enact an ID card requirement to perform
background checks and tracking procedures on all immigrants
and visitors, and deport those who are not legally in the United
States. Citizens are entitled to avoid having these requirements
imposed on themselves.
ACT NOW WHILE WE STILL HAVE A COUNTRY!
